Robo Football WorldCup Final. Jaden 'V' Kenneth

Today was the final of the Room 4 Robot Football World Cup.

The final was between Jaden and Kenneth. It was an epic battle. 5 Minutes of yelling, celebrations, and high excitement.
In the end the score was 2-1 to Jaden.

Wacky Machine Sound Effects

As part of our Wacky week we have been creating Wacky Machines. We have designed them on paper and then created sound effects to go with them using Kristal Audio Engine. Mr O downloaded sounds from http://www.soungle.com/. Once we made the sound effects we have been trying to make human wacky machines using movements and drama.

On Friday the seventh the whole of Ruakaka primary school went to Kelly Tarltons. We saw lots of amazing things there such as their gigantic female sting ray, Phoebe. Siobhan (say her name Shivaun) went on a school camp with her dad, she brought her togs, towel, sleeping bag, warm clothes, tooth brush, mug, plate and a spoon. Lots of mums and dads are there to help. When they got at school the field was empty soon, everybody arrived the mums and dads brought tents ,they put the tents up. Siobhan shared her tent with her 3 best friends and someones mum , Siobhan's dad brought fish and chips for tea. after tea they all went to play on the play ground later Siobhan went for a cold swim with her friend.it's starting to get late, some of the teachers all ready started a campfire Siobhan and her friends had toast marshmallow on a stick Siobhan gets them just right she puts them between the two biscuits. Delicious! Siobhan's dad plays the guitar and everyone sings camp songs her favourite is She'll be Coming round the Mountain. She likes the funny actions, when everyone was singing one of the teachers goes to the staffroom to make two huge pots of hot chocolate. It takes six 2 litre bottles of milk to make enough for everyone. Siobhan lines up with her cup.She also gets a piece of watermelon. Yum! Soon it's time to go to bed. Siobhan gets ready and goes off to her tent with her friend.they snuggle into their sleeping bag but they didn't went to sleep for a long time,they was talking and joking. But it has been a long day so when the teacher comes to check they were already asleep .Next morning the teachers wake up early to make breakfast,Siobhan had a cup of hot chocolate and a plate of cereal she's surprised at how good it was.by 9 a.m, all the tents was taken down, the field was empty again. Siobhan's had a great time . She can' wait to do it again next year!

In Trouble

CHARACTERS: Keiti, The principal ( Mr Wood ), Her teacher, Courtney and more of her friends.

WHERE THE STORY TAKES PLACE: in the Classroom, hallway and principals office.

A SUMMARY OF THE STORY: Keiti was doing work in her class when her teacher said for her to go to the principals. Her class mates were make noises that meant that she was in trouble. She walled up to the teacher and the teacher gave her a note and said for her to go to the principals. She walked out of the classroom into the hall towards the principals office. She knocked on the door and the principal said come in so she did. She was very scared at this point. She entered the office and sat down opposite her school principal. Mr wood the principal said "well done you have written a lovely story, hear are some crisps to reward you for all your great work."Keiti toke the crisps, said thank you and toke a sigh of relief at not actually being in trouble.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT: I liked that Keiti had written a lovely story and that she got rewarded for doing something good.

MY RANK: I rank this book 9 out of 10 because the only bad thing i can say is that it was kind of a short story but besides that it is a great story.

This is my drawing of a dragon that I drew on Sunday afternoon.The picture is off Eragon and I have read nearly all the books in the series. The book is really good it has lots of fighting in it. It talks about dwarves elves dragon riders and bad dragon riders you have got to read these books all the books are called Eragon eldest and brisinger.

Batdown

First you have to hit the ball. then you put your bat down on the ground.
wherever it lands, the fielders pick it up and chuck it and try to hit the bat.
If you hit the bat you become the batter.
The batter then becomes the bowler.

Chirpy

The characters are Chirpy, Cam, Cam's dad, and Smoky.

The story takes place in the Kitchen,Cams Bedroom, and the Lounge.

Smoky the cat finds a cricket outside, Cam at first believes the cricket is dead

Cam gets surprised when he finds out the cricket is alive. the cricket escapes to under the dish washer. His dad annoyed him by saying "I am going to kill that bug in the morning".

in the middle of the the night Cam can't sleep because he's worried about Chirpy.

Cam later tries to save chirpy by moving the dishwasher in the kitchen but then his Dad walked in thinking cam was a burglar. the two try and move the dishwasher then Cam releases

Chirpy into the night.

I liked this story because it was interesting and detailed.

I rank this book a 3 and a half out of five.

Dad, Cam, Smoky, Chirpy

In the kitchen around the big white dishwasher,and Cams bedroom.

It was dark outside when Smoky the cat came inside, carrying a cricket in her mouth. She dropped the cricket on the tiles in the kitchen. Usually when she dropped her crickets she'd caught they would jump up and down, but only on the spot. This one stayed still. Cam bent down and picked up the cricket, but it suddenly came to life, jumping out of Cams cupped hands. The cricket scrambled under the dishwasher. Smoky waited by the dishwasher, waiting for the cricket to come out. After a few minutes of waiting, Smoky lost interest as the cricket wouldn't come out.She wandered off into the lounge. Cam shone a torch under the dishwasher and the beam of the torch picked out a few peanuts, dust and cobwebs, but no sign of the cricket Cam called Chirpy. Suddenly Chirpy gave a soft feeble chirp, as though trying out his voice surprised to find himself alive. Then he chirped again and again, louder and louder until Cams dad heard the chirping and came into the kitchen. He swept under the dishwasher with a fly swat, but couldn't get chirpy out.'' Wheres that damn fly spray, '' muttered Cams dad, Cam quickly thought of a solution, '' we could pull the dishwasher out,'' suggested Cam hopefully, '' no'' said dad sharply. Cam opened his mouth to argue, '' no ''said dad wearily I'm to tired to argue.'' Cam went to bed but he couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about Chirpy. Cam waited until his dad had gone to bed and was asleep before he got out of bed and went downstairs to save Chirpy. He began to pull the dishwasher out. If all went successfully he'd be able to get the dishwasher out to save chirpy, as long as his dad didn't wake up. Unfortunately Cam didn't get that far. ''What the?'' Cam's dad came downstairs. He saw the dishwasher. '' I thought i told you not to.'' Cam saw that his dad was carrying the fly spray.'' I thought you wouldn't do that till the morning,''Cam said accusingly. His dad sighed. '' yeah, i did. His dad shrugged his shoulders '' okay, lets pull the dishwasher out. They pulled the dishwasher out and Cam bent down and cupped his hands gently around Chirpy. His dad opened the back door, and Cam wandered out into the night, to find a safe place to put Chirpy. Cam bent down and opened his cupped hands, and Chirpy jumped out into the night, out of sight.

We thought this story was descriptive and interesting, we give it a rank of four and a half out of five.

My name is Yaron Overeem and I am the new teacher in Room 4, Ruakaka Primary School.

This is my first year teaching at Ruakaka School but I have been involved with the school for the past 3 years as an ICT Facilitator where I have been working closely with the staff and students teaching them how to use technology in the classroom. Previous to this I taught at Onerahi Primary School for 6 years.

This year I will be continuing my role as a facilitator with three other schools. This means that I will be teaching in Room 4 for three days a week and Kylie Batten will be teaching the other two days. My teaching day will most likely be Monday through to Wednesday and Kylie will take Thursday and Friday. Kylie and I aim to have a very organised classroom programme that will transition easily between the two of us.

With my IT background I aim to have a big focus on using technology to enhance children’s achievement and as a way for students to share their learning and thoughts. For this reason I have set up two websites that most of our work will be presented on.
