Pop Up Books - Book Week
This week is book week and we have been looking at Pop Up books. Mr O let us look at some of his awesome pop ups.
Robo Football Cup
We are taking part in our own Robo Football Cup. Mr O has made some soccer robots that we are using to make our own football world cup. We each have a country from the Football World cup. We play off in rounds to see who will get into the final.

Wacky Machine Sound Effects
As part of our Wacky week we have been creating Wacky Machines. We have designed them on paper and then created sound effects to go with them using Kristal Audio Engine. Mr O downloaded sounds from http://www.soungle.com/. Once we made the sound effects we have been trying to make human wacky machines using movements and drama.

On Friday the seventh the whole of Ruakaka primary school went to Kelly Tarltons. We saw lots of amazing things there such as their gigantic female sting ray, Phoebe. We would definitely recommend it as a place to stop at sometime to see their magnificent underwater animals. Here are some of of our best pics. Happy looking!

Sailo.r sam was a sailor. But he did not help on the boat.He liked to stay in bad.He stayed in bad all night...and he stayed in bad all day. The captain can't stay in bad. You have to help on this boat. But sailor sam would not get up. yawnThe captain went to see sailor sam again. You have stayed in bad for days he said.

Chloe Riding her bike on "two wheels"
Yesterday Chloe asked if she could learn to ride her bike only using two wheels.
It took her about 30mins to do it by her self. now she is a pro. Well done Chloe!!!!!

school camp fun
Siobhan (say her name Shivaun) went on a school camp with her dad, she brought her togs, towel, sleeping bag, warm clothes, tooth brush, mug, plate and a spoon. Lots of mums and dads are there to help. When they got at school the field was empty soon, everybody arrived the mums and dads brought tents ,they put the tents up. Siobhan shared her tent with her 3 best friends and someones mum , Siobhan's dad brought fish and chips for tea. after tea they all went to play on the play ground later Siobhan went for a cold swim with her friend.it's starting to get late, some of the teachers all ready started a campfire Siobhan and her friends had toast marshmallow on a stick Siobhan gets them just right she puts them between the two biscuits. Delicious! Siobhan's dad plays the guitar and everyone sings camp songs her favourite is She'll be Coming round the Mountain. She likes the funny actions, when everyone was singing one of the teachers goes to the staffroom to make two huge pots of hot chocolate. It takes six 2 litre bottles of milk to make enough for everyone. Siobhan lines up with her cup.She also gets a piece of watermelon. Yum! Soon it's time to go to bed. Siobhan gets ready and goes off to her tent with her friend.they snuggle into their sleeping bag but they didn't went to sleep for a long time,they was talking and joking. But it has been a long day so when the teacher comes to check they were already asleep .Next morning the teachers wake up early to make breakfast,Siobhan had a cup of hot chocolate and a plate of cereal she's surprised at how good it was.by 9 a.m, all the tents was taken down, the field was empty again. Siobhan's had a great time . She can' wait to do it again next year!

In Trouble
CHARACTERS: Keiti, The principal ( Mr Wood ), Her teacher, Courtney and more of her friends.
WHERE THE STORY TAKES PLACE: in the Classroom, hallway and principals office.
A SUMMARY OF THE STORY: Keiti was doing work in her class when her teacher said for her to go to the principals. Her class mates were make noises that meant that she was in trouble. She walled up to the teacher and the teacher gave her a note and said for her to go to the principals. She walked out of the classroom into the hall towards the principals office. She knocked on the door and the principal said come in so she did. She was very scared at this point. She entered the office and sat down opposite her school principal. Mr wood the principal said "well done you have written a lovely story, hear are some crisps to reward you for all your great work."Keiti toke the crisps, said thank you and toke a sigh of relief at not actually being in trouble.
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT: I liked that Keiti had written a lovely story and that she got rewarded for doing something good.
MY RANK: I rank this book 9 out of 10 because the only bad thing i can say is that it was kind of a short story but besides that it is a great story.
