My name is Yaron Overeem and I am the new teacher in Room 4, Ruakaka Primary School.This is my first year teaching at Ruakaka School but I have been involved with the school for the past 3 years as an ICT Facilitator where I have been working closely with the staff and students teaching them how to use technology in the classroom. Previous to this I taught at Onerahi Primary School for 6 years.
This year I will be continuing my role as a facilitator with three other schools. This means that I will be teaching in Room 4 for three days a week and Kylie Batten will be teaching the other two days. My teaching day will most likely be Monday through to Wednesday and Kylie will take Thursday and Friday. Kylie and I aim to have a very organised classroom programme that will transition easily between the two of us.
With my IT background I aim to have a big focus on using technology to enhance children’s achievement and as a way for students to share their learning and thoughts. For this reason I have set up two websites that most of our work will be presented on.
